Losing head feathers (pictures)

I just noticed that my 8 month BR is losing the small feathers on one side of her head. I checked for bugs but can not see any.

Also, does her comb look frost bitten? Does Vaseline help? I have a small window with hardware wire open but it is below were they sleep. Do I need to add another hole for ventilation above their heads in the coop? We are getting 2 - 3 feet of snow tonight so they will be locked in for the next couple of days.

What should I look for around her head for bugs?? I did not see anything but I know they are very small.

If you don't have a roo mating her or another hen pecking her, it might be bugs. The best way to find them is to go out at night with a flashlight and look. Mites in particular will be actively feeding then but you'll be able to catch the lice better at night also. Lice are fast so look sharp! Her frostbite is minimal, vasaline is ok but triple antibiotic is better, as it will diminish infection and promote healing. Good luck!

Thanks - no roo and no pecking. I took a good look around yesterday during the day for bugs but will go out tonight and look as well as put some Neosporin on her and my BO's combs.
 
If the frostbite is not infected (and in that pic it is not) IMO it's best to leave it alone......it will heal up fine on it's own but parts of those tips may fall off eventually.
