ended up rolling and cutting the stump and finally splitting it with the excavator bucket. Whole tree was processed, logged, brush burned, stump made it to the drying pile.

The we processed 5 40'+ cherries.

All in a day. Not too shabby for 3 guys.

Not too shabby at all! Does it look like you made a dent in all the trees though.

Not too many downsides to having a large piece of land, just a lot of work getting it ready.

That is a huge stump!
DH dug out a stump last spring, not nearly that big but it was too big for him to move with our tractor. He was fussing about it, talking about taking out the chainsaw and cutting it up with that. I didn't want him dulling his chainsaw on that stump so I convinced him to let it sit until fall "when it was cooler to work on it". I figured it would dry out quite a bit over summer. I was right, I knocked off a lot of the sand over the summer and he moved it with no problems in fall.

Its nice to see progress on your property, isn't it?

We started on the garden area here at our place. A lot of work needed there. So far we have only plowed the area with a double bottom plow. A lot of sod to break up.

It definitely is a dent. At least 150x 100. That was completely wooded.

I really appreciate the comments and replies.

Wow is it nice to see progress on something of your own. Unfortunately I've been working 12s and haven't made much more. Did burn some more stumps. Fires running strong lol.

Yeah it's a big stump. Really big lol. But we'll burn it and make it go away. :)

I'd love to see a thread about yall progress! Maybe you have one and I missed it. If so point me in the right direction!
