I'm Debby and I live in Grand Rapids, MI where backyard hens are still raising a ruckus. I'm celebrating the idea the city caame up with, to have a 2 year trial period to see how it goes. Finding quality coops far more expensive than I imagined, I fugure this gives me a couple years to get chicken smart and save money. I'm hoping to find people who sell sexed hens in my area and hope to give some lovely ladies a healthy beautiful place to live and share their eggs. I know already I will love them,

Hi Debby, Welcome to Backyard chickens. If you want to be certain about sex- you might want to buy point of lay pullets. There is such a glut of roosters looking for homes, most end up being eaten, if even someone will take them for dinner.

Welcome to BYC, Debby. Glad you decided to our flock. I hope the trial period goes well and people in your area can raise chickens permenantly. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your flock.
