How to stop a rooster from flogging you?!?!

Oh, could anybody happen to tell me what their perspective is on buff orps?
My buff Orpington rooster just flogged me today. And so I reacted out of anger and kicked the poo out of him. I know I shouldn't have done that you would think that they would be happy that I raised him from a day old. I don't really know what I can do with him.

I have a bantam roo that keeps knocking over his feed and water containers and it is driving me insane. every time ii go to turn them over he flogs the crap out of me

Try squirting your mean roosters in the face if they even do much as look at you. A well mannered rooster will move away from you when you enter the coop.

So every time he faces you, squirt him in the face. Over and over until he gets the point that he needs to move away from you, not challenge or stand up to you.

well for all you who would rather kill a fighting rooster, I found out why he is fighting. He feels threatened by my shoes. He does protect his flock by the way. He just has a problem with certain types of shoes. I dont know why. The guy we got him from would go barefoot around all his chickens (gross) but he doesnt attack my boyfriend who wears flip flops. I went out this morning & he just attacked my shoe. He pecked & flogged it. They are big clunker shoes that I got from my grandpa so I wont ruin any of my good shoes. Im not giving up on my rooster yet.
I have one that doesn't like it when I wear my hat. He's just a lil guy so I'm not afraid of him right now but when I have my hat on he flys up and takes my hat off. I'm not sure what to do either tho because he's aggressive and I don't want him to hurt anyone, and there's no way I'm killing him. I think spending time with them and holding them and petting them ( just being nice to them), may help. I'm still learning tho

Petting my baby roosters is what made them aggressive back in the day, I don't pet my roosters anymore and they don't bother me. They see me as the different species I am and they move away from me.

I know this sounds horrible but when I was in my twenties and I live at home with my parents they had a beautiful game rooster but he always attacked me. I was scared to go out in the yard because he would come running just to attack me.I got to the point whenever I went outside to feed the chickens check on the goats or the pigeons and tend to the cattle I carry a large stick with me from an oak tree.one day he came after me I smacked him with the stick and he never bothered me again he gave me free rein in the backyard and I was the one in charge.I wasn't trying to hit him hard or hurting just to let him know that he needs to stop and it worked.
