Thanks to all for the warm welcome! our broody hen is still sitting! I candled some eggs last night and i could definently see development. Im so excited. The racoons havent been a problem since we figured it out. we have long fall/winter nights here. I was letting the birds out before i left for work around 7 am, thats when the little buggers would sneak in and take a bird. Now i leave them in a little longer and we havent had a problem. Here is a pic of my chicken coup and my duck coup..

Hello Orcas folks,
We are just getting our coop set up to get some chicks over here on san juan, and have been looking around for some Maran chickens in our area, and so far havent had much luck. I saw your post and thought you might either have some Maran chicks, chickens, or fertilized eggs you would sell, or perhaps know where to get some.

Thanks and hope you found a way to evade that pesky coon, and that your chicken endeavors are going well!
