If I get 2 white frizzle cochin bantams(hens) will I be able to tell them apart? this may be a dumb question, but i really want to know.
 
Well, if you can tell your other animals/pets apart, you should be able to tell your two frizzles apart. Even with human identical twins there are slight differences that serve to differentiate them.

After a while, if you spend a lot of time with your chickens, you will notice they each have their own signature voice, as well as behavior mannerisms. Some of mine are five and six years old so I've been around them for all that time and have come to know their idiosyncrasies. I often can tell a hen by her voice and they way she walks, just out of the corner of my eye, not even really looking at her.

But until I really get to know them, I mark their legs with a dab of different colored nail polish.
 
I have 6 Rhode Island Red hens, and when I first got them they all shared the one name - Red Bird!

Now that I've had them nearly a year, I have come to know them a bit better and can tell them apart easily.

As they develop they will have their own distinct combs, behaviours and voices.

If you really get stuck though, you can buy coloured leg bands very cheaply off the internet. I put them on all my hens so that if hubby goes out to the coop, he can report back to me what he found:

"Pink band is broody. Yellow band is stuck in a hole" etc. He doesn't spend as much time with them as I do, and can't tell them apart!

I can tell my Favs apart if I'm close to them and they aren't running around. However, I wanted to be able to tell who was who from a distance (I stand on my 2nd level deck and watch them from a ways away.) so I put cable ties on their legs.
