We're brand new to raising chicks. Yesterday I noticed that one of our 2 week old Buff Orpingtons had a white-ish discharge seeping from her vent. Everything I've read indicates vent gleet. Today it seems much more severe, most of her rump is bare (feathers/down completely rubbed or picked off). We have her isolated, have added ACV to her water, I'm rinsing her butt clean of debris build up a few times a day and applying triple antibiotic ointment mixed with a topical female yeast infection treatment cream (miconazole nitrate 2%) but I'm really not sure what more we should be doing?

I've offered yogurt and scrambled egg, but she seems uninterested. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thank you!

Her vent looks prolapsed. You can try honey and pushing it back in. Apply preparation H after to help with swelling. Is her vent protruding? It usually looks like an innie belly button, kind of. In this pic it looks prolapsed
 
Thank you. We had noticed it beginning to protrude as well, but that seemed to have become pronounced AFTER the white discharge? She is passing waste... but we are truly clueless, so if you more experienced folk say prolapse, I'm inclined to trust you over our guess.
 
This was just about 24 hours ago. It's progressing at an alarming rate. The The "baldness" is spreading rapidly.

Yes, she is definitely pooping (part of the benefit of isolating her) and it seems like a normal amount and size. They are a little... spongy? Maybe? It will take me a little more chicken poo fondling time to really get familiar with how they should look, feel and taste. Wait, no, not taste.

I know it's been a couple months, but is there any more info on this chick? I have a buff that has a butt that looks like this. Did she pull thru?? What did you do??
Is this a prolapse or pastey butt? I'm frantically looking for info.

My chick is 10 days old. I check them 2 or 3 times a day and just noticed this condition -- hoping it can be corrected because it is caught early.... the only difference with my chick is she has a sore (looks like a pimple) below and to the side of her vent.

I will continue to look thru forum. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi everyone, I am new to raising chickens and I am so glad I found this post. I had a Blue Ameraucana that this happened to at 1 week. She was perfectly fine and then she passed within 24 hours. My other 4 seemed to be doing fine then I noticed the same thing happening again to one of my Columbian Wyandotte’s yesterday when I got home from work. I put some antifungal cream on her, but she looked worse this morning. I don’t think she can pass any bowl movements. I have done some research and this is the first place that I have seen that talks about this issue in baby chicks. I am really worried, and afraid that she will not make it. Any help is greatly appreciated. (They are about 2 ½ weeks old now)
