I am new to having chickens. I have 5 chickens, 4 hens and a rooster or Little Mama, Monkey, Alissa, Honey, and Daddy Dom. :) I am already in love with them. We got them for eggs, I have read a lot about keeping hens happy to keep them laying. If you have any advice for me feel free to share. Thank you.

I'm glad you joined us.

Sounds like you have a nice little flock! I like their names. I would definitely take a look at the Learning Center for some good articles on raising chickens.

I love your chickens' names! x2 On the Learning Center, there are some great articles in there. In a nutshell, keep them safe from predators and comfortable in the coop and run, feed them a well balanced diet (layer pellets/mash is best for active layers - the rooster can eat it too), give them a few treats now and then, like mealworms, spinach, cooked rice…. There's a whole list of safe treats in the "Treats Chart" in the Learning Center. Spend time with them, talking to them, interacting with them and just watching them, so in time you'll get to know when they are happy and when they need something. Enjoy your little flock and hope you get loads of eggs!
