The Brunswick Tractor Supply Swaps are the first Saturday of the month starting May 2nd. :ya

If you plan to set up as a vendor at the swaps, the following guidelines need to be followed. Use the links provided to be sure you are able to bring and sell your items. This is your responsibility, not that of the Brunswick Swap Admin., or Tractor Supply Co.

The swap is not just for chickens but can be other healthy farm animals or anything farm related. E.g. Fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Handcrafted items such as: Fiber in the raw, spun, and knitted. Goats milk soaps, lotions, and balms. Baked goods, jams, jellies, etc. Used farm equip, cages, feeders, and waterers are always swapable too.

We've had issues in the past the store wants to make sure everyone knows there is to be no altering of male animals on site and all animals are to be in the control of the owner at all times. The store has given us the parking area on the side of the building to use.

IT WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH VENDOR TO ABIDE BY STATE OF MAINE LAWS AND REGULATIONS; TO PROVIDE ANY REQUIRED LICENSING, ADEQUATE SHELTER, CAGING, WATER AND FOOD FOR THEIR ANIMALS; & TO CLEAN UP THEIR AREAS WHEN LEAVING.

Maine State Laws governing the sale of poultry/waterfowl & goats
Maine State Law:
5A. All sheep & goats (no matter the age or whether castrated or not) must be tagged if they are up for sale at any event. All sheep/goat being sold from a farm need to have a tag, whether being sold in state or out of state. Castrated sheep/goat must also be tagged. The farmer is required to keep records for 5 years. A small yellow book is usually provided with the tag shipment for recording of the tag number, date sold, etc.
5B. Poultry (ducks, chicks, turkeys etc) have to be sold in lots of 6 from one seller if they are under 8 weeks old. After 8 weeks of age, they can go one at a time. Now, from your house or farm you can sell single birds of any age.
NO PROCESSING OR NEUTERING OF ANIMALS
MAINE RULES AND REGS ON SALES OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY, WATERFOWL, MILK, CHEESE

As always, there is no fee to set up. Happy Swapping!
