Bird chewing on my hand?

Hello, I have 3 handfed lovebirds that are 7 weeks old. They are just now interested in eating regular food. I would sometimes put my hand in their cage and they would all fly on it and sit there. But sometimes they would chew on my fingers. What does this mean? Are they trying to bite or play? What should I do? I really want to make sure they are hand tamed. Thank you.

Thank you both for your answers! And they have cuttlebone i their cage.

Parrots use their beaks to explore the world. They are learning about different touches and tastes, and also about their own beak power. It's fine to let them nibble, but quickly reprimand them if they bite too hard by tapping their beaks with your finger and saying "No!" sharply. If they were growing up in a flock of other lovebirds, they'd be doing the same thing -- though the reprimand would come from another beak, and the sharp vocalization would be "lovebird-ese". If you've ever watched parrots interacting with each other, you'd see what happens when one "goes too far" and the other makes it known.

:)
