roo with injured eye, need immediate advice.

I had a roo get pecked in the eye in a fight, it's a little bloody around the eye but his eye is closed. Not sure how to handle this injury

I don't know of much you can do other than put some ophthalmic antibiotic ointment on the eyelid once or twice a day, and mabe let him rest a day or two. Most feed stores carry something like Terramycin opth. ointment.
 
I have a triple antibiotic ointment i have been using on my girl's injury, would that be ok?
 
If it is plain, brand name Neosporin, I was told by a vet years ago that it is OK to use in eyes. I think it causes a little irritation (from using it on myself) but use it anyway. Ophthalmic ointment is formulated to avoid that irritation.
 
Thanks for your help. He's opened it a little but not much. Just keeping an eye on it and keeping it clean.
