Adopted her 2 days ago, pretty sure it's respiratory, there's pus coming out around the eyelid. Tried a small cut to relieve puss and only blood came out. The nodule is very hard. Her eye is still there, all of the swelling is underneath. It's watery and no worms. Any advice?

We have been doing compresses and Terramycin ointment on the eye. Not much help. I don't want to do the Tylan as it wasn't recommended but how long do I wait before it's too late?
 
It's been about 3 days, treatment was vet recommended as to not introduce antibiotics that would cause more problems and create bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics and it would make us all sick.
 
What may have to happen is the infection to surface which it sounds like it is starting, and to drain then you will see a difference. But the last chicken eye issue I had took about 5 days before I saw a difference. Then it was line it healed overnight. Good luck with her.

[/IMG]Status update. 11 days on tylan 50. Here is her improvement. I want to stop today as it seems a long time. She's shown improvement but the swelling is still there. Any thoughts?
