How long can Ivomec Plus stay effective with proper storage?

I have some injectable Ivomec Plus that I have used orally to kill Liver Fluke worms for our goats. I am wondering how long I can keep the medicine in its container (out of light) and it still be effective. Whenever we have wormed our goats for Liver Fluke, we don't use a lot at one time and would like to save it for later. That stuff is on the more expensive side and we can't get anything smaller than 50ml bottle...

Also, how often are you supposed to worm your goats for Liver Fluke? Our family lives in north GA and it is really wet right now because of the transition from winter to spring. I would think 2 times a year is good...once in the spring and then again in the fall. What is your opinion?

Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you and God Bless!

Your Ivermectin should have an expiration date on it. If it is stored at the recommended temperature (also on the label), it will maintain its full potency for at least that long.

Most drugs last at least one year or more if stored properly. (lid on tight and stored in a dry dark place).

So if this stuff has been handled properly, I would assume it was ok to use. Check the package as it should have a use by date on it.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!
