Okay so I was raised with chickens well my dad got a bunch of chickens their about a week or two old at least this one is . Friday we noticed one of the chicks was laying down shivering so we brought it in to contain it. The next day it was alert peeping away keeping me awake. I start to notice he payed down a lot and he's hoping on one leg the other is not laying to his or her side but straight underneath I've done some research it's been four days since I noticed my dad was just going to kill him but I'm trying the tape around his legs to maybe get his strength back I'll add a picture later to see what you all think I really want to keep him alive. But I know the poor thing might be suffering And I don't want that. Thanks guys

Get some poultry vitamins to put in the chicks' water. TSC carries Rooster Booster and other brands, or you can give baby vitamins such as polyvisol without iron 2 drops daily, or Poultry Nutri-Drench 1 ml by mouth daily. The chick may have a slipped tendon or leg bone deformity. Giving it some time may help.

its not a tendon I took two fingers straightened the leg and and tried to see if it was loose or anything or it would pop in but their is a lot of swelling the pic is recently. When is straightened the left leg he tried to pull back but the other one was limp I did notice above the elbow it felt like jelly but besides the leg problems he looks like a healthy chick.

After read some on avian encephalomyelitis, it could be that the symptoms possibly could fit your chick. It may not be that at all, since so many problems affect chick's legs. With AE, there may be tremors or shaking. Hopefully it is just a leg bone problem. Here is a link to read about it so that you can compare the symptoms: http://beautyofbirds.com/avianencephalomyelitis.html
