We had a horrible incident yesterday evening. My daughter's little banty hen, that she's had for 3 years, was killed by a fox :'( For my daughter, this was no different than the death of a dog. That hen was her baby and security through some hard times. We are now left with our 2 year old Serama rooster. He's lost without a buddy, and we certainly aren't ready for a new hen. As of now, my daughter feels like she's not even wanting chickens again. It's not fair for him to be lonely. He keeps crowing and looking for his hen. It's awful :( He's a VERY sweet rooster. He's never ever been aggressive with anyone. I want him to go only to a home where he is safe, and loved like he has been here. It's hard to let him go, but it's only fair that he has some buddies again. His name is Pixie. I'm willing to drive him aways to a good home. He's also pictured in my profile picture.

Sorry about your daughters hen! It's terrible loosing a pet chicken. If I may ask, why don't got just get another hen?

I have some eggs in the incubator, not many are looking like they may hatch, and if only a few hatch I may be able to take Pixie. All of my chickens are pets here. :)

Good luck with him.

Hi, do you think you could ship him I have a serama hen that I got in an assortment of bantams and i have no male. I live in New Cambria, Kansas

Hey Peep-Chicken,
Your poor girl. We've seen that sad face before. This year we are pasturing with electric net to keep out the bad guys. If you want to rehome him in Jackson, MI he wouldn't be lonely here.
