I have my 5.5 week old babies in their coop and they are happy as can be! Someone who is not happy - our resident hen who has been by herself (left over from the people who lived here before us). She circles their pen squawking at them. She is completely free range.

Eventually, the babies will be allowed to free range with electric poultry fencing. Do you think that she will ever accept them?

Yes - but it will take time. Probably a couple of weeks even. They will adjust! We have everything from 3 years to 5 months in our coop. They don't like it at first, but they figure it out!

Yep, I have 3 nine week old babies now and 2 one year old hens. The babies had an outdoor playpen that the big girls could see through and interact with them for about a month before we "set them free"! One of our hens pecked at them a bit and chased them but it has lessened each day. It's been a week now and they all sleep in the same coop and the "little ones" are still cautious around the older girls, but mostly all is good now. Whew!
