we've been bathing her and keeping her warm, giving her water with acv in her own clean cage, and attempted pushing everything back up with a honeyed gloved hand, and have been applying witch hazel. can you see the 2 openings here? the picture is upside down and unfortunately i can't edit it. on her right (left in the picture), her poop has been coming out of that opening. i assume the left (right in this picture) is her oviduct. when i have treated hen prolapse before, i have only seen the oviduct protruding.
she also passed something that does not look like a forming egg or anything else i recognize (and i don't know from which opening or for sure that she passed it. it was next to her in the coop). otherwise, she is fine as far as is apparent. thank you for any feedback!!
i would especially love a super detailed anatomy image link or description to explain how the cloaca instersects with the oviduct and the large intestines. i cannot tell from images online exactly how that works. thank you!

treatment is working. just gave her another bath and application of honey and witch hazel, replaced prolapsed organs with gloved hand and they stayed! however, she also vomited just before, which i have never seen a hen do before.

Hmmm. Vomiting could show another problem, or may be her way of dealing with the stress. Not sure about that.
It's good that everything is staying inside now, just make sure everything is lubricated, and keep an eye on her to make sure it doesn't force it's way back out. Don't let her move around if you can help it.

Do you know what caused the prolapse? I had a prolapsed hen last week who unfortunately worsened, and when I performed the necropsy I found that she had impacted feces and cecal worms, which caused straining and the prolapse. If your hen was simply egg bound then that is a different situation.

i see no signs of egg binding and not sure of what the prolapse cause is. if we cull her, i'll investigate via necroposy, but right now she is doing well. thanks for your feedback!
