should I quarantine a chick before adding to my brooder?

We had a chick die today and are getting a new one to add. All existing in the brooder are around four weeks old. Should the new baby be quarantined first or should she be ok?
I'm worried that having just one chick separated from the rest won't be good for her as they seem to be social.
We aren't able to get a pair because of the limit to coop size and city restrictions.

Do as your intuition suggests here. It is a risk but a calculated one. I am sure you will do the right thing.

You can single rear chicks without others. Most of the social behaviors are very strongly innate and later birds can learn the finer points. Learning seems to be restricted to position in pecking order, what is good to eat, how to respond to predators and where resources are located.

If you are willing, a suggestion is to take one of the existing chicks and place it with the new chick. The new chick isn't alone, and if, unfortunately, there is some pathogen/disease, you won't lose your entire flock.
