I really need to change my name to inundated with Roos.
Anyway, I bought 4 more 'pullets' and ended up with at least 2 more Roos. But can anyone tell me, is the one on the bottom right one a Roo, as well? Or am I just paranoid? Please tell me it's too early to tell. I have at least 6 out of 12 Roos currently. This one would put me at 7. And yes, I keep ordering pullets.

So far, it looks like a pullet. I understand the too many roo thing. I got some free straight run chickens, i know i would get boys. Followed the rules as best as possible for pullet coloring and legs. Out of 14 chicks. only three pullets and those were the ones the employee just grabbed. Now i have 12 cockerels with a couple pullets that still have me questioning.

Oh, thank you! I ordered 5 straight run to start my flock and got 3 Roos. I didn't know any better.
But then I ordered 7 pullets and have 3 Roos definitely out of those.
I am not sure if this is just par for the course of starting a flock, but it's pretty wild to dive right in to the understanding that roosters have such an unfortunate fate in the world. I do promise to keep at least one, though.

I don't know where you've been ordering your chicks but I would go somewhere else. That's too many cockerels. What are you going to do with them?

I know! Well, I bought 5 black copper marans and 3 ended up being cockerels from a guy a couple hours away from me. He has a small hatchery and will take all of them back. I am going to bring 2 back for older pullets in hopes of them being pullets.
I bought 2 from a group order from McMurray and you guys are telling me it's too early to tell. (Thank God.)
The 3 production reds I have are 9 weeks and from a farm across the street. I am more than willing to re home or give them to anyone who could be nice to them before their fate.
With 3 kids, this is just too many. I feel awful I didn't know this before becoming a chicken family.

It is too early to tell what gender the one on the bottom right is, unfortunately. I'd post more photos in a couple of weeks.

If someone will take back the cockerels that is terrific. I have one little guy hatched May 17, and he and another were identical but I had him pegged as a cockerel by ten days old and the other as a pullet just by their actions. And time is telling me I am right.

If both were the same sex I think it would be harder to tell.
