Anyone else having trouble sleeping?

Allow me to explain:

For the past 4 months or so Mr. Pidge and I have been living "away from home" in Canberra. And for the past 4 months I've been getting the worst sleep imaginable - to the point where each morning I wake up feeling more tired than the night before. I've tried close to everything... no caffeine, no bright lights, meditation (okay, everything which doesn't involve medication). At this point - eek - I've gotten to the point where I have honestly scrolled through feng shui websites trying to find out whether the bed is aligned wrong or something.

I seem to be getting enough hours of sleep... between 8 and 10 depending on whether it's a weekday or not, I don't have trouble falling asleep - so I assume it's something to do with the quality of sleep. Mr. Pidge doesn't snore, we now both use our own set of blankets (in case either of us steals the covers - a necessary measure, believe me!) and we live in a relatively quiet area. I'm out of ideas.

Has anyone else had the same problem? If so, how did you solve it? I'm at my wits' end here!

I've had trouble for years - cannot sleep at night. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat - all day long. I've tried staying up all day so I will be exhausted and sleep at night. That doesn't work. I just toss and turn and check the clock all night. The dr. told me to turn the clock around backwards so I can't see it. No good, I get up several times a night to go check the clock anyway.

My day time naps can be several hours long, wake up eat, etc., so tired I go and nap again. I never feel rested. Different dr. told me I was depressed. He consulted with another who said I was just bored. Not wasting any more $$$ on opinions like that.

I don't drink or smoke or do drugs. I also will not use sleeping pills or such. I don't watch things on tv that would upset me. In fact, I barely watch tv at all. I listen to the weather channel. and spend waking time on BYC. I am not anxious or frightened by what I read here. My health tests come out okay. Id' rather sleep than eat which is saying a lot.

When I am finally awake for awhile I have to run around like crazy doing all the chores I missed. You'd think I would be used to this by now. I'm not.
