Questions about hatching eggs.

I wasn't sure so I put it back with momma hen and she pecked it if it got to close to her and the other eggs. Do you think she doesn't want her because I held her to much? Or is this normal for a momma hen to abandon a chick? (She is a first time brooder).. i have her in a box in my room with water, food, a nest and light. Any suggestions??

I have heard that if a momma shows aggression to the chicks you have to remove them immediately because in almost all cases she will kill them. If you have a brooder box set up you should just move them there as soon as they hatch, it's better to be safe than sorry.

First of all here are the babies that were mentioned up above. They are doing fine and are growing fast. The picture above was taken not long after both were hatched. I think I decided to name them Fettuccine (black) and Alfredo (Brown).
Secondly, I had nine other eggs that were due to hatch yesterday and today, One hatched successfully yesterday morning, but two others started last night about 5-5:30. They still aren't out of their shell and it's been over 12 hours since they started. about 11pm I looked up how to help the chicks hatch and attempted to help, but stopped for the night when one chick started bleeding just a little. So this morning about an hour ago, I looked at them and they were the same from when I left them, except no blood. So I attempted to help some more, but after ten minutes working on them, they both started to bleed a little, So I just put them back in their incubator, since momma hen pecked one of them last night and caused some bleeding. Please help me know what I can do to help them. and just to make sure I give you all the facts, I was able to get the shell picked away on both of the eggs to a Little over the size of a quarter from it's original opening. one chick has a clear membrane that is stuck to it, and then another membrane that is soft and white. The other chick, I can only see one membrane and the most of it is white except where the chick originally picked out is turning a light brown, but it is all soft.
Thanks-
The Kochs
