Well our broooder is set up and the temps are dialled in; ranging from 32-35C (90-95F) under the heat lamps and ambient air of 17-20C (62.5-68F). We are supposed to be receiving 8 chanteclers (Heritage Canadian breed) and six Australorps. Unfortunately the Australorps didn't hatch out so they're replacing them with Easter Eggers.

What do you think? Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?

We're really excited!!

Jenn

I think everything you did is perfect! You will be a very good mama to your chicks! Good Luck!

Looks great Jenn! You might consider putting together a chick first aid kit so you have everything you might need and not have to run around to the store in an emergency. I copied the items from the Fresh Eggs Daily blog to put together ours.

We have 5 one week old Easter Eggers and so far their personalities are my favs...They seem super sweet and will always look at us when we sit by the brooder and are the most comfortable with being picked up and talked to.

Only suggestion I can think of. Is they will get a lot of shavings in that water. So if your home to clean it slot not a problem. But if not a small platform raising it off the ground is a great way to keep it cleaner. For the first few day I use lids with marbles in them. Just till there up and running around. But it looks great sure your chicks will be happy.

At further look it does look like you raised the water a bit. Sorry for my bad eyes. Looks like your in perfect shape there.
