These are pictures of our 5 week old Speckled Sussex. Can anyone help identify the gender? Can you sex them by the coloring of their feathers?

With that tiny comb, it looks like a pullet, but wait a few more weeks to be sure.

A little concerned about all the white coming in on the chest. Is that normal with a pullet?
Definitely a pullet. My boy has very little of a tale with green and other shiny colors showing, with a big, red comb. They are colored very differently at that age.

I agree looks to be a pullet. SS females feather faster, and yes do get white on the chest, which will drop away as other color comes in...but SS do have big white dots...that's what makes them speckled....so you are going to see white splotches.
The males just tend to have more white on the chest, but not always. They also feather more slowly and get combs faster. Tend to be taller and lankier as well while the girls are more tear drop shaped.

I wouldn't worry about the white. These are all hens from last year and look at the white on them.

Looks like a pullet to me, for now.
The shape is the part that amazes me the most. Since I only had pullets the first time and now I have both it's easy to the different shape.
