We have 23 chickens. Does each of my chickens suppose to lay eggs everyday and how many eggs should I expect from each one?

Thank you

Chickens can lay no more than 1 egg in a day. How many you get every day depends on the breed, time of year, and other factors. It's better to look at what yearly number your breed is projected to lay. For example it's only expected that my japanese bantams will lay a little over 100 eggs in a year. Closer to 1 every 3 days. While some good egg laying breeds may lay 300+ every year and therefore nearly daily.

It depends on a lot of things. If they're getting the proper nutrition and amount of light, and aren't stressed, they'll probably lay one egg every day or day and a half.

Certain breeds of chickens have higher "production" levels than others, so it also depends on what kinds of chickens you own. Age of the birds is also a factor.

I had one of my chickens lay 2 eggs in one day, they were3 about 1 and a half minutes apart. I seen her do it so it is rare but it can be done.
