Here are a few African harlequin quails that I was able to hatch in my homemade incubator. Very exited to have this new breed! Especially because it's so rare. Hopefully I get a good male to female ratio so I can breed them.

Good job!I know first hand these birds eggs are hard to hatch.I tried them for 2 years and never got a chick from them.I gave up and gave them to a kid in Ma that also had no luck with them.

The chicks are almost fully feathered now. This is certainly an extremely jumpy and skittish breed!
 
They are a lot like button quail, only much rarer. They require the same incubation temperature and humidity, as well as the same feeding requirements as button quail. They also do really well living with other breeds in an aviary or cage and I personally feel they are calmer than button quail (though they were pretty jumpy as chicks!)
