Thank you for your post. I was wondering if the nipple were under the pressure front the hose. I made my own. I got the email from the chicken chic who is giving one away. And as I was looking at it I was thinking that would be a lot of pressure on the nipple. Thanks for the insight
We just installed this Chicken Fountain over the weekend.....girls were reluctant at first but picked it up within a few hours. I am very satisfied with the appearance and quality of the system so far. The float is within the main body of the system which is covered and should not get dirty or green...We replaced an auto fill unit which allowed them to dip their beaks in and while it worked and needed infrequent float replacement, the water became dirty quickly. Our feed is simply a high quality hose run from the house spigot underground across the yard. My hopes are high for a low maintenance system....time will tell.
