Two days ago my chicken started limping. Now her foot is gnarling and she can''t really walk.
What could it be? How can I help her?
Please help, thank you,

Could she have an injury like a cut? Could she have something wrapped around her leg? Is her foot broken? Could you post a picture?

Hope she gets better soon!

My 4day year old chick has little white bugs going in and out of his fur.. I've seen one on his head and one on his bum! What is this and how do I get rid of it? He seems very sleepy all the time and my other chicks weren't like that at his age

What shape are the bugs? Do they have legs or are they worms? Could they be maggots? If its maggots this is an emergency. You need to get rid of them all and clean off whatever caused them to be attracted to the chick, whether its droppings or a wound.

I hope it gets better soon!

They look like maggots.. At first I thought they had legs but the one on his bum was wriggling like a worm!! All the other birds are fine. He's never itchy or anything like that x

Thank you for responding. She is a little camera shy and I had a hard time getting these, I hope it helps identify the problem. It escalated since 2 days ago.

It doesn't look too badly swollen. Is it hot to the touch? Could she have scratched it on a rusty nail?
If it isn't a physical injury it could be a neurological one. We had a chicken that had a terrible limp and eventually became paralyzed in her legs.
Leg problems can be related to not getting enough vitamins or minerals, so you could try supplementing this, to help her get better.

Hope she gets better soon!

Thank for the suggestion, I'm going out to get some multi vitamins and let you know what happens.
I hope that's all. With the super dry summer, they are not getting as many veggies and no greens as before and are only getting some layer crumbles, scratch grains, mangoes and some kitchen left overs.
It's so hot and dry here that not even bugs come anymore, just flies and tomato bugs...
We are getting 1 to 2 rainfalls per month for the past 6 months in my area, even the trees are dying...
