i have 7 young roosters that need a new home asap! We ordered 10 chicks and 17 showed up. The packing invoice says 7 males for warmth. We can't keep them. We are happy to regime them for free. Please let me know if you have room in your heart and coops for them.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you order them from? I'm surprised a vendor would do that without mentioning it first.

alot of hatcheries and vendors throw in "packing peanuts" its in the fine print of most places so, surprise! Extra boys (usually). Murray McMurray did that to me :(

Most people welcome the extras. I always order through mmh and place my order via the phone. My orders are usually for 100 - 150 birds. I tell them any extra boys that should find thier way in will be welcome (any size any breed). Last order i got 20 extra birds. Mostly boys. It great!! You can always say no to extras but please remember hatcheries have minimum orders for a reason! Its so the birds dont get bashed around in shipping due to extra space. They also stay warmer and less stressed with the appropriate number in the box. If you dont meet the minimum they usually will either not fill your order or ship boys.
