Is our weather too cold for my ducklings?

Since they are now exactly 3 weeks old, outgrowing their brooder, and VERY messy, I was thinking of putting them out in the coop this week. However, the temperatures are going to be down in the mid to high 50s', and they don't have any feathers yet (not counting the spiky quills that are coming in). Also, our wiring in our barn isn't very dependable, so I'm not sure if a heat lamp would function out there. Is it too chilly to put my ducklings out, or are they old enough to withstand cooler temperatures? Thanks so much.

I wouldn't put them out till fully feathered they run a risk of chilling. Go to a furniture store and ask for a large appliance box Lowe's may have one, that will keep them a while longer. But please don't put them outside yet. with out their feathers they can't regulate their body temp.
