I have read a lot of information on here about impacted, sour, and otherwise impaired crops. So last night I noticed one of my 9 week old EEs Had an extra large liquid filled crop. I made her vomit then gave her a candy dropper of olive oil ( realize now probably not enough). While I was "massaging" her crop I could feel some gritty stuff inside and what felt like a whole kernel of corn. We put her in the infirmary cage with fresh water and a dishes of chick feed mash. She immediately started drinking water and ate a tiny bite of the mash before I left for the night.
This morning her crop wasn't as full but still moderately so I expressed it again. There's still some gritty stuff in it but I don't feel th whole corn kernel. It doesn't smell bad but I went to Walgreens and got clometrizole cream just in case. I also got probiotics, stool softener, baby food, and sport wrap to make a crop bra if needed. She has very little energy. Has been laying in my lap the whole time I have been writing this. She didn't poop over night. I can hear her "stomach growling"
I am giving more olive oil this morning but where do I go from here? What should I do next?

First of all, Are you saying she has a sour crop or an impacted crop? If she's got a sour crop it will be liquidy (as you've said) and will possible smell. If its hard it will be an impacted crop. In both cases I tend to avoid olive oil. I can't see it helping at all in the case of a sour crop and when you use it with an impacted crop it can often make the contents doughy which makes is 10000x harder to get through. Are you sure the girtty stuff you are feeling in her crop is simply just grit? It is normal to feel the grit once you've emptied the hen loads. It's good you have her on anti fungal medicines. Just remember to only empty her once a day (in the morning). Is she wormed? Is the grass in their pen long?

The stuff out of her crop doesn't smell, thus I had not actually started the clometrizole yet. But will now. She hasn't had any grass recently. She is standing up but closing eyes like she is sleeping a lot,not worried acting. Still drinking water (with probiotics ).
When are you supposed to start worming?

Well they should be wormed twice a year really but as your chick is so young, I see why it hasn't been done yet. The reason I ask is because if they have a heavy worm infestation, it can cause blockages in their intestinal tracts. Its normal for her not to have much energy as she will most likely not be getting a sufficient amount of food due to her crop problems. Make sure she doesn't get any corn, solid food etc as these will all take longer to digest.

I gave her clometrizole and will give her another dose before bed. Should I give her the stool softener also?
