My coop nest boxes have a wire bottom and I use hay for the nests. Each weekend I take old hay out, clean the coop and replace with new hay.

I have noticed that toward the end of the week that the ants are attracted to the chicken poo in the nesting area.

Is there anything I can use in my coop to keep the ants out?

I would de-poop more often, at least till the ants have found another hobby.

(Cinnamon, bay leaves, and cayenne pepper are said to be good natural ant repellents but I would first make sure these substances would not present any problems for chickens - probably easiest to de-poop more)

Not sure if food-grade DE works on hard bodied bugs..... but it's worth looking into. Just make sure it's food grade or it can hurt your chickens.
