I have seen the links for the genetic calculator but haven't gotten the hang of it yet. There's some much I don't know.

I hatched 7 chicks this spring from a backyard mix that lays green eggs. Her mother is a gold laced wyandotte with a straight comb and dad was cream legbar. She has gold lacing partial, straight comb and head tuft.

Her 7 chicks have 5 potential daddies. 2 Delawares, Barnevelder I think, Buff Orpington, and splash wyandotte. Splash and Barney pics included. I figure we know what a buff and Delaware look like. Also included 2 pics of the mix momma.

The seven chicks are 8 weeks old:

2 are buff/red pullets. I'm assuming daddy is my Buff Orpington. I've had other pullets from him that presented similar colorings.

One is obviously a Delaware cockerel.

2 laced pullets. One with tuft and Rose comb the other no tuft and straight comb.

2 creole or barred boys. One with tuft and partridge breakage?. What is their color?

My laced tuft girl has me confused. She has the Rose comb but a slight dark was on her feet. The Barnevelder had the feet wash. Was the rose from the splash boy or recessive from the golden laced wyandotte half of the hen? If the splash boy, how did she get the wash?

I'm only 3 years in on chickens, so everything is still new. My flock isn't separated and I have several hatchery breeds. I keep the birds that work well together and are healthy. Once I get a better feel of which breeds l like, I will start a more controlled breeding program.

The two blue laced chicks had to have come from the splash laced red father to be blue. (Rose comb is dominant, not recessive, but wyandottes can have the recessive single comb gene.) The two barred chicks with leakage are from the barnevelder, they’re a mixed color so there isn’t really an official name for it.

Oh wow! Thank you!
