Does anyone have pictures of what 4 week old barnvelders look like? I got welsummer eggs from two different sources and one set of them doesn't look anything like any welsummers I've ever had. These are not yours Mothergoose!!! Yours look fine! I contacted the seller, but haven't heard anything back from her. I don't care if they turn out to be barnvelders...I'm just curious.

Thanks, but I had already checked feathersite out. Didn't really have any near the same age as mine. When they were first hatched I thought they looked quite a bit like the barnevelder chicks. I might just have to see what they grow up to be.

Katy,

I am trying to find some pictures that might help you. Some of these are in different languages so if they don't look right....here are some links.

In Barnevelder chicks the males have white or creamy white colored chests and the girls have brown or greyish brown chests at hatching.

Thanks Tonya.....That last blog had some pictures that I think are comparable agewise. I tried to get some decent pictures of mine this afternoon, but didn't get anything very good. Mine certainly have some strong similarities....I guess I'll just wait and see how they turn out. I wish the seller would answer my email!
