Do barred rocks ACTUALLY go broody? She may just be laying an egg here. I've seen different articles say they go broody and others say they don't. Please someone clear this up.

A hen of any breed is capable of going broody. And while some breeds are more prone to broodiness, Barred Rocks aren't an incredibly broody breed, they can and go indeed go broody. Broodiness is driven by hormones, some hens have raging hormones, others not so much, each hen has a different genetic make up.

If your girl continues to sit in the nest box, not straining to lay, stays in there all day long on eggs or on nothing at all, chances are you've got a broody.
