My blue Silkie is broody and sitting on two eggs. Pretty certain the father is an OEG red Pyle rooster (I have a white Silkie rooster, but he appears to be asexual 😂)
I haven’t been able to find any posts describing this cross—more often, the hen is the OEG (which seems almost counter-intuitive, given Silkies’ rep for broodiness.)
Aside from sheer curiosity, I’d like to see if it’s a cross worth hatching and maybe risking additional roosters that I’ll need to re-home 😬

The offspring should be white with blue or black spots and red leakage. They will have smooth feathering. If the silkie isn’t a pure blue, the offspring may turn out completely white or with more red than white.

Thank you!! The first has just pipped! 😂
It will be interesting to see!
