Brahmas and Texas Heat

Hello,

I'm starting to look at the next round of chicks for my flock and wanted to get a couple of Brahmas. Honestly, I just think they are cool looking. However, we have extremes in weather. The description says they do well with cold weather, but what about extreme heat? I mean, we had almost two months over 102 (and then a couple of weeks of 20's and lower for the cold.)

Brahmas need a lot of care throughout our Texas summers. My last dark Brahma died last summer duo to a heat stroke. I’m probably going to get some more this year though. They don’t do well in the heat, but they can tolerate it with the right precautions.

Thank you. I don't think I will bring them in this year, I always feel so bad for the new birds and their first summer.
