Considering ordering some Muscovy eggs. I’ll be out of town from days 18-23ish and I’m wondering if I can dry hatch them (but increase humidity at lockdown) so I don’t have to worry about the humidity while I’m gone. The humidity would naturally be around 25% in my incubator.

Thanks.

I can’t say that I have incubated muscovy ducks, but I raise geese/turkey and incubate both completely dry (45-55% humidity) until lockdown.

I don’t know what climate you live in but I’m in the Ohio Valley area in Indiana and we have no problems increasing the humidity to around 65-75% or higher for lockdown and we have good results. I’d say go for it. Usually high humidity is the problem in the earlier stages.

If you are in a more dry climate perhaps it wouldn’t be beneficial.
