i have no idea how my EE roo could have gotten either but he has something. I thought it was respiratory, so I started him out on some herbal supplements thAt usually work. He wasn't getting better, I looked in his mouth and it looked very slimy. The next day he had the crusty yellow spots in his mouth. It smells but idk whether it is canker or wet fowl pox.

Does he have the "regular" dry pox right now?

It's most likely canker. Is a vet visit for antibiotics doable or no?

No he does not have regular pox. No unfortunately no one sees fowl around here. I have tylan 50 on hand and trimethoprim/sulfa.

Do you have a lot of pigeon or other wild birds who eat and drink out of your chickens’ waterers and feeders? The bad odor and the cheesy material look like canker, a protozoan infection carried by pigeons. Aqua Zole or metronidazole is one drug that may be used to treat it. Dosage is 25 mg per pound of weight given twice daily for 5-7 days.

If you can see a vet they can probably diagnose it.
