Chick being Bullied out of brooder plate

Hello!

We started our flock today with 10 chicks; 5 varied easter eggers, 3 speckled Sussex, and 2 barred Plymouth Rock. They seem to be doing well after we figured out the appropriate brooder plate height. Overall quiet, intermittently peeping, and intermittently coming out to eat and drink. However I have one easter egger who is notably lighter than the rest of the flock, who seems to be being bullied. She doesn’t appear to be showing any sign of illness, and she is actually one of the biggest chicks! However she is almost always on the edge of the plate, or sitting next to it rather than under it. When she attempts to go under, she appears to be being pushed out.


Any advice for us? Thank you!

Might need a bigger plate?
Take a look under, with a mirror if needed, to see if they are fitting OK.

Perhaps raising the plate might help. How many chicks is that plate supposed to handle?

Hello! It is a brinsea eco glow 600, rated for 20 chicks.

Maybe rated for 20 chicks however, like everything else what is said by the manufacture we the consumer have learned every situation is different. Check as was suggested with a mirror as to how crowded the chicks are. IF it prefers to say on the outskirts, maybe it too warm under there. IF it's being pushed out, maybe someone else wants that spot.
