My chicken was attacked by a bobcat this week and suffered a neck injury and possible a mouth/beak injury. Her neck sores seem to be healing but she is very lethargic and I’m feeding her through a syringe. Any advice on how to treat this type of injury? It looks inflamed compared to the other side. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Consider getting her started on Penicillin since a cat bite might be involved. It should reduce the bacterial inflammation in given time and hopefully she'll recover. Cut the tablet in half, crush the 1/2 into powder and add it to the whatever you're feeding her via syringe. Do this twice a day for 7 days. Hopefully you'll see some improvement in a few days. Here's where you can order it:

Poor thing :(

There is a spray called Vetericyn which is antimicrobial and very good for healing wounds. It’s safe to use around the eyes/face etc. You could also use a q-tip to dab a bit of honey on the site.

Thank you so much for the tip, I’ve seen Vetericyn pop up on other threads and will look into getting it. Thank you again!!
