Chickens and rain

Chickens are fine in the rain primarily due to their feathers. In fact, they can actually be out in the rain for quite a while without actually getting wet! Their feathers will get wet but their skin can stay quite dry under all of those feathers. They will know when to go inside the coop when necessary. I wouldn't be worried.

Thanks for your detailed response! It just stopped raining a few minutes ago and the sun came out, all of them laid down in the garden. :) They look so relaxed!
