Chickens sunbathing all day :)

I spent so much time putting a fence in the garden to keep the hen and her chicks in... Pulled out plants that weren't safe, got it all ready...

Since I started letting them out of the coop in the weekend they have literally not gone two metres from the coop, and most of the time they just go to the nearest patch of sun to the door and lie there, so like 30cm from the door

Not sure if I have the world's laziest chicken family or if its just what they do when they have chicks?

Either way it makes me feel OK about them being in the coop because half the time when I check on them they are back in the coop anyway.

Ah, chickens often fail to appreciate how much work we do for their benefit. On the other hand, who can blame them for wanting to soak up some sunshine?

There is still snow cover on the ground here, and while some of my girls refuse to leave the coop, a few have scratched away the snow and, like yours, hunker down to catch some rays.
