Comb disease or dehydration?

A few of my birds have this on their combs. I left them with my son while on vacation and the day I came back there wasn't any water so I am not sure if they were dehydrated or it was something else. It's also been very hot lately.

I want to make sure it isn't a disease.

Looks like Dry Fowl Pox which is a virus spread by mosquitoes.
It will generally resolve over the course of several weeks.

Here's some reading for you.

Thanks. It looks like it. I'm in a dry area so I can only assume the Asian tiger mosquitoes got to them as they bite all day.

So is it better to let it go through the flock than try to stop it as once they get it, they're inmune?
