Curled Toes tape lead to Splayed Legs?

So I’ve incubated some eggs that I purchased and I am a bit disappointed with. Out of a dozen, 9 were fertile and 6 hatched. I also had an additional 25 that I put in the incubator from my own chickens and another breeder - 23 of those hatched.
3 of the 6 of these chicks have hatched with curled toes - none of the 23 other chicks have this issue so I strongly suspect it is an egg quality issue.
I’ve taped up the feet as per internet instructions but now they are slipping and sliding on the puppy pads and I’m worried about them developing splayed legs. I’m already slightly concerned because all 6 seem to have a wide stance and I’m not sure if it’s an issue or the breed thing (D’uccles). Should I preemptively tape their legs close?

My Chickens had the same problem. It depends if multiple toes are bent or not.

My chickens are all grown up still with bent toes and are still living their normal lives.
