Does anyone know shorthand?

How did you learn that?

I took Spanish for 3 years in high school. We were always partnered and I got put with the smartest girl in the class, so I basically coasted the whole time. The only phrase I can remember is how to ask to go to the bathroom. However, If I see a word or sentance I can understand it for some reason.

I learned in tech school. Bout 100 yrs ago! Ok, 20 yrs ago. Well anyway, its pretty simple, the type I learned. It was omitting the vowels, capital T for th sound, S for sh sounds... So on... i for it, in, is. N for and.... Few other things... We would have to short hand or speed write tv dialog.... Wow...

So, something like this. I would hat to have to do it now. But everybody texts now, so should be easy.

Shorthand is a lost art anymore. It started fading away with the invention of Dictaphones.

Back in the 70s, when I was in high school, I took exactly 2 days of shorthand.
I then went down & begged to be put in to Advanced Algebra instead.
It was a lot easier to understand!!!
