4x3 is too small for 18 5-week-olds. When they get around that age, growth can be rapid, one day you walk out and finally see how miserable they've gotten, usually after problem behaviors have started. More picking on each other, more messes with the feed, and dirtier bedding. Once you move them into bigger accommodations you can see how much happier they are.
