Duck laid her 1st egg now what?

I have my first pair of ducks and the female magpie just laid her 1st egg. Can someone tell me how ducks dO? do the go broody like a chicken or is it different? I need a little 101 if someone can help me. IF she does not sit on this egg should I pick it up or let them stack up?

I would imagine if she just laid her first egg,she wont be broody....... I would just leave it there and see if she stays on it.if now...take it and use it for baking..or incubate it..... I am not sure how those breeds are with being broody..

Thanks! I don't know either. She sure is cute with her little crest on her head. I hope she will brood them if not how long will eggs stay good to incubate them?

I kept mine for up to 12 days....... some I sent to someone else to hatch were 11 days old and they hatched

if you save them each day,just set them in a cool room , big end up in an empty egg carton until your ready to set ......good luck if you do that
