Duck Nesting Boxes

My small flock free ranges, but mainly hang out around the ponds. I would like like to provide some individual nesting shelters for them, but am having a hard time finding some pictures and building plans for just nests. I've seen some muscovy shelters made from barrels cut in half, but they seem too large for my Cayugas. I also thought the shelter needed 2 means of escape if the duck feels threatened. Right now a few ducks are trying to use my goose nest boxes, which are 24X24, I know the ducks need something smaller. Should I just scale down the goose nesting boxes? Any photos appreciated.

Are you talking about out in the open or inside your duck house? My ducks just make their own nest down in the deep shavings. Leaving them outside to lay and possibly brood is very dangerous.

Mine make their own or surprise everyone with an egg out in the middle of the yard

As I stated, they free range. I have a LGD who protects them and the geese.
