I arrived home from work and they were waiting for me at the front door.

I can't wait to put them in the nesting boxes.

I put a few nesting pads in but none of they girls are using those nesting boxes.

. So, the wait begins.

Ok the girls refused to lay on the nesting pads. In addition, (believe it or not) they tore the nesting pad up. They tore the "hay-like" material off of the pad and kicked it all over. What kinda chickens am I raising!!!

. They are vicious!!!!

Sad news ~ I had to throw away the nesting pads. My hens hated them. They tore them up and refused to lay eggs on the nesting pads. I think they knew the difference.

. Well at least I tried them but won't be trying anything else but hay. I'll just have to keep putting in new hay as they kick it out. I'm disappointed that they didn't work.

I am sorry to hear that. My 3 new to laying pullets love them as well. I guess your girls know what they prefer and they certainly "told" you!!! I hope you have a great New Year!
