Fence Height Concerns for Silkies! Advice Please!

Question:
How tall should our garden fence be to prevent our silkies from hopping over & out?
I was hoping that 2.5 feet would be sufficient! Thoughts?

Additional Information:
I am planning on using a lattice fence cut to a size of my choice from Home Depot.
I am not concerned about the fence for predator protection--our silkies will only have supervised play/free ranging.
Ideally I want to easily step over with fence & into the run area with my children - ages 6 & 8.

My mixed flock (including Leghorns) mostly stays inside a 3.5 foot fence. Seems sufficient. I know my silkies can't get higher than two feet of jump.

With a running start, mine have cleared a 5 foot fence. However, I have never owned silkies, and they do not seem like they would be very good fliers, so 2.5 might work.

I have 5 silkies hens and I think 2.5 feet will be just fine keeping them in.
